The word "saint" basically means "holy", which is someone who seeks God with all their heart and soul by perfecting the virtues, disavowing vice, and seeking perfection in all God's commandments. Those who have been canonized have undergone great scrutiny to confirm them as saints in heaven. Pray for their assistance whenever you need intercession for help. For they are in the presence of the Lord, and their prayers are stronger than ours. The church is the body of Christ, so we are all together. God wants us to love each other and serve one another and Christ said as much. He lets the saints continue to serve from heaven those still living in this "valley of tears", where we are still learning to love as the saints in heaven do.
Become holy... Become a saint!
Have a blessed All Saints Day!
